We are currently hiring a 3rd Shift Machinist to join our high-skill, close-knit overnight team. If you’re experienced in CNC machining and thrive in a high-mix, low-volume environment, this is your chance to grow with a company that values craftsmanship and career advancement.
Shift Details:
  • 3rd Shift start time: Options at 10:00 PM, 11:00 PM, or 12:00 AM
  • Shift length: 8 hours plus a 30-minute unpaid lunch
  • Team environment: Small team of machinists and maintenance professionals
Position Summary: Operate and set up a Mori Seiki NHX 10000 horizontal CNC machining center to perform complex machining operations—such as milling, reaming, drilling, and boring—on precision parts in a low-volume, high-variety environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Review work instructions, drawings, setup sheets, tool lists, and CNC programs
  • Load and secure parts using overhead cranes, hoists, and appropriate fixtures
  • Perform complex machining tasks using various cutting tools and rotating tool magazines
  • Edit CNC programs as needed and prove out new programs with minimal supervision
  • Perform in-process inspections using gauges, micrometers, and probes
  • Continuously load/unload to maintain operation during machine cycles
  • Apply a strong understanding of GD&T to meet tight tolerances
  • Suggest process improvements in collaboration with Manufacturing Engineering
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety standards throughout the work area
Qualifications:
Required:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 2 years of CNC machining experience
  • Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint reading
  • Familiarity with precision measurement tools
  • Ability to edit and prove out CNC programs independently
  • Solid math skills and attention to detail
Preferred:
  • Technical school certification or associate degree
  • Experience with multiple types of CNC machines
  • Knowledge of probing, advanced metrology, and PC skills
