We are currently hiring a 3rd Shift Machinist to join our high-skill, close-knit overnight team. If you’re experienced in CNC machining and thrive in a high-mix, low-volume environment, this is your chance to grow with a company that values craftsmanship and career advancement.
Position Summary: Operate and set up a Komo vertical mills, as well as drill, tap, slot and bore bars to perform such machining operations as reaming, milling, drilling and boring and tapping. Select, set, calibrate and secure tools in tool holders to perform metal cutting operations.
Shift Details:
3rd Shift start time: Options at 10:00 PM, 11:00 PM, or 12:00 AM
Shift length: 8 hours plus a 30-minute unpaid lunch
Team environment: Small team of machinists and maintenance professionals
Key Responsibilities
Review work instructions, drawings, setup sheets, tool lists, and CNC programs
Load and secure parts using overhead cranes, hoists, and appropriate fixtures
Perform complex machining tasks using various cutting tools and rotating tool magazines
Edit CNC programs as needed and prove out new programs with minimal supervision
Perform in-process inspections using gauges, micrometers, and probes
Continuously load/unload to maintain operation during machine cycles
Apply a strong understanding of GD&T to meet tight tolerances
Suggest process improvements in collaboration with Manufacturing Engineering
Maintain cleanliness and safety standards throughout the work area
Qualifications:
Required:
High school diploma or GED
Minimum 2 years of CNC machining experience
Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint reading
Familiarity with precision measurement tools
Ability to edit and prove out CNC programs independently
Solid math skills and attention to detail
Preferred:
Technical school certification or associate degree
Experience with multiple types of CNC machines
Knowledge of probing, advanced metrology, and PC skills
